Fasching Saturday February 29, 2020 starting at 6 pm
The Holidays are behind us. Oktoberfest is a distant memory. We need to Party. FASCHING is right around the corner!! Gott sei Dank!
Fasching - sometimes called Karneval - is a time of festivity and merry-making. This tradition can be traced to medieval times, a time to break the rules and poke fun at those who make them.
Political authorities and the high and mighty were subject to ridicule and mocked in humorous and satirical speeches.
German authorities of the time were not known for their sense of humor - so these antics were played out from behind masks and costumes. Parades, dancing in the streets, masquerade balls and comical skits filled the days and nights.
Did someone say celebration, carousing, music, dancing and masquerading?? Sounds right up our alley.
Join us the Fasching - GACS style on Saturday February 29. There will be a costume contest with prizes, plus entertainment by GACS favorites, the Bavarian Brothers and their famous musical skis.
Of course we'll have all the great German beer you've come to expect plus our featured dinner - Jaegerschntizel - served from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
There's a $10 cover charge. Doors open at 6 pm.
